Freelance Post Merger Integration (PMI) Project Manager – Logistics Sector (Germany) Location: Flexible (some travel/workshops in Germany) Duration: 3 - 6 months Start: December 2025 Language: German (fluent), English (fluent) About the Role Our client is seeking an experienced Freelance Post Merger Integration (PMI) Project Manager to lead the integration planning and early execution phases of the deal. This is a hands-on, cross-functional integration role requiring strong experience in planning and executing PMI activities across multiple business areas - including Operations, Commercial, Finance, HR, Legal, IT, and Property. The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing the integration plan, establishing governance and relationships, and ensuring readiness for execution - all within the boundaries of competition law prior to deal close. Key Responsibilities Lead integration planning activities for the acquisition in Germany, ensuring compliance with competition law and “clean team” rules prior to close. Develop and align integration plans, scope, and structure across all business functions. Coordinate with function leads and the central PMI team to ensure Day 1 and post-Day 1 readiness. Support onboarding and mobilization of local teams and stakeholders in Germany and Eastern Europe (e.g., Poland and nearby countries). Collaborate with teams in other regions, including Asia, to ensure consistency, though not directly responsible for managing those regions. Establish effective communication channels and foster collaboration across functions and geographies. Apply existing PMI playbooks and frameworks while adapting them to the specifics of this deal. Drive execution planning and readiness for operational handover post-close. Key Requirements Proven track record leading or delivering Post Merger Integration programs, with strong experience in execution, not just planning or due diligence. Experience managing integrations across multiple business functions (Commercial, Operations, Finance, HR, Legal, IT, Property, etc.). Solid understanding of competition law constraints and how to operate effectively in the pre-close environment. Strong cultural awareness and the ability to work effectively with German stakeholders - deep understanding of German business culture is essential. Experience in or familiarity with the logistics or supply chain sector preferred. Excellent stakeholder management and cross-cultural communication skills. Ability to work flexibly - part-time in December and full-time from January — with potential travel for workshops. Engagement Details Duration: 3–6 months Start: December 2025 (part-time), ramping to full-time from January 2026 Location: Remote / Europe-based, with occasional travel to Germany for key workshops
