Be it food entrepreneurs or team members, our mission is to create opportunity and joy through great food, from the KERB up.TasksAs a Senior Kitchen Porter at KERB Berlin, you'll play a pivotal role in keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes You'll take full ownership of the KP area and waste rooms, ensuring everything is organised, efficient, and compliant with health and safety regulations. Alongside this, you’ll demonstrate effective supervision of the Kitchen Porter Team, ensuring tasks are completed to a high standard, motivating and setting a good example at all times, liaising with management where necessary. You’ll support management with making sure that breaks are taken at appropriate times. Additionally making sure that trays, glasses, utensils, and equipment are spotless and ready for restocking for the traders. You’ll help maintain the high operational standards set by KERB and the venue management team, keeping the back-of-house areas in top shape. This role is on a rota basis, covering all exciting trading periods at KERB Berlin.ResponsibilitiesDaily set up & shut down of the KP area inline with company standards & daily checklistsFull accountability of washing/drying/polishing & replenishing all:Equipment, pots & utensilsVenue serviceware & cutleryVenue GlasswareWeekly deep cleaning jobsEnsure proper use of recycling & food waste systemsOversee correct usage of both waste roomsShift leading - ensuring that the Kitchen is prepared for service and closed down and cleaned properly at the end of the shiftTraining new and existing team members to the highest standard and ensuring maintenance of these standardsSupporting management with allocation of breaks and people management of the KP teamAssisting and working alongside management to drive the business aims and escalate issues when they occurAssist and motivate Kitchen Porter team, escalating issues/concerns where appropriateMaintaining the venue's recycling procedures in-line with KERB’s sustainability initiatives and disposing of waste in the correct placesExemplary organisational and cleanliness standardsEnsure good communication and maintain professional relationships with peersWork with management team and Traders to ensure appropriate use of team resources - making sure everyone plays their partSet a great example and become ambassador for KERB and the Kitchen Porter teamRequirementsWhat you’ll bring to KERBThe ability to manage tasks effectively and adapt to different situations, with a focus on problem-solving and creative thinking.Effective team management skills, ideally with prior experience supervising or managing a teamExperience in fast-paced, high-demand environments.A passion for delivering outstanding hospitality and ensuring exceptional guest experiences.Strong communication and collaboration skills, with ease in engaging with guests and team members.Previous experience in hospitality is an advantage but not essential.Benefits at KERBPeople-First Culture: A supportive and collaborative team environment with regular team events, feedback talks, and growth opportunities.Build Something New: Shape KERB Berlin and create processes from the ground up.Vibrant Workplace: Work in a lively food hall full of energy and excitement.Perks & Discounts: Enjoy food hall benefits and exclusive access to events.We’re still growing, so our benefits are evolving — and we’re excited to shape them collaboratively with youDiversity & InclusionAs part of our values, we are dedicated to fostering a culture of inclusivity at KERB.
