The DLR Institute for Data Science in Jena focuses on finding solutions for the new challenges of the digital age. Research concentrates on the areas of data management, data analysis, and data acquisition. In line with the institute's thematic focus, three departments have been established. What to Expect The Process and Knowledge-Based Data Exploration group has the scientific objective of bridging the gap between process knowledge and data analysis to promote data-driven decision‑making. Its methods include the seamless integration of domain and process knowledge into data exploration, particularly through time series analysis, the integration of physical models, and the development of image pattern recognition procedures.
