p> At the Leibniz Institute of Atmospheric Physics (IAP), a full-time position (40h/week) in the Department "Optical and Rocket Soundings" is available as Postdoc, EULIAA project (f/m/d)

The position is initially offered for three years with a start date on 01.p> Your Tasks:

You will conduct research in the field of experimental atmospheric physics, with a focus on optical remote sensing of the atmosphere up to the edge of space (stratosphere, mesosphere, and lower thermosphere). New instruments and measuring methods are being developed in close collaboration with local industrial partners within the framework of the EU-funded project "EULIAA". The project is based on our compact lidar systems (VAHCOLI - Vertical And Horizontal COverage by LIdar). Software development (lidar control or data evaluation) is a critical component completing the hardware development.

Your Qualifications / Experience:
  • A PhD degree in physics, mathematics, engineering, computer science, or environmental sciences, or a related discipline, is required.
