Sharp Reflections, a Computer Modelling Group (CMG) company, is a leading provider of software and seismic data analysis services to a large portfolio of international energy companies. Our unique interactive HPC solution for the oil and gas industry is setting a new standard for the analysis of huge seismic sets. Sharp Reflections already serves a large portfolio of international energy companies. Our software provides solutions for visualizing, processing and analyzing seismic datasets up to terabytes in size in a High-Performance Computing environment. We are looking for a full-time Senior Software Developer to join our team based in Kaiserslautern, Germany. The position is hybrid, we will expect you to come to our office on average monthy.What you will doWork in a cross-functional development team on new and existing features, complex UIs and HPC backend algorithmsDesign, Implement, Test and Document your work outcomesWork closely with domain experts from a geophysical backgroundContinuously improve existing code and architecture, applying clean code principlesReview code and architectureTroubleshoot and debug software together with our support staffWrite and maintain automated tests on various levelsBuild complex, scientific UIs with QtBring your expertise to the team and mentor team members to continuously improve engineering practicesThe above section describes the primary functions of the role but is not an all-inclusive list of responsibilitiesWhat you will bringB.Sc. or M.Sc. in computer science, engineering or equivalent qualification5+ years of experience of professional working experienceExperience in GUI developmentExperience developing and maintaining large C++ applicationsFamiliarity with Linux as development platformStrong knowledge of modern C++ with the ability to write clean, maintainable and high-performing codePassion for delivering high quality software to end usersFluent English communication skillsMindset of a team player, living modern software engineering practices every dayFlexibility to accommodate overlapping time with other time zones if requiredExperience in Python or C# or with signal processing, seismic data, visualization or scientific software would be a plusWhat we will bringWorking as part of a dynamic, agile development teamFlexible working conditions in an international environment, with daily collaboration with colleagues in Germany, UK, Norway and the USPossibility to make a real impact and shape an important part of the companyOpportunities for career growth and development within the CMG group of companies Generous vacation policy for work-life balanceComprehensive compensation package designed to reward excellenceWe look forward to receiving your application
