The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for supporting both sustaining of released products and development of new designs and products. This position reports to the Manager Hardware Engineering and is part of the Engineering Team l ocated in Aachen and will be an on-site role .This position is initially offered on a one-year fixed-term contract (with the possibility of extension or transition to a permanent role). In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Hands-on product design, development, and verification tasks related to hardware, software, and microplate consumable interoperability, with the goal of achieving overall product and process performance requirements for our cell health products. Collaborate cross-functionally with product management, science and manufacturing team Development of constructive solutions and creation of CAD drawings suitable for production Conducting feasibility studies and testing new and modified designs The essential requirements of the job include: M.S./B.S. with 2+ years of experience in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or similar engineering field. excellent CAD skills Good knowledge of German and English, both written and spoken Structured, independent work, high level of practical judgment, reliability, organizational talent and enjoy working in a team It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in: Experience with design, documentation, and assembly of complex instrumentation Proficiency with SolidWorks, Enovia and design documentation Proficiency in control engineering and fluid mechanics are a plus Proficiency with MATLAB, Python and general C programming is a plus Beckman Coulter Life Sciences, a Danaher operating company, offers a broad array of comprehensive, competitive benefit programs that add value to our lives.
