# Product-First Senior Software Engineer
Konstanz, Germany
Fuse brings AI into established software businesses and large organizations with internal software. We work directly with their teams to build AI features and agents, modernize existing systems, and automate workflows across industries such as healthcare, insurance, and energy. We ship at startup speed for customers who already rely on these products.
What we learn feeds into our own products, including tools for agentic software development. Our ambition is to help entrepreneurs across Europe build and run software faster and better.
## The Role
You work directly with the CEO and own specific projects end to end. Your work combines customer projects with development of our own product. Depending on the project, you’ll build independently or work alongside an existing engineering team.
## What you will do
- - Turn customer problems into practical product and technical decisions.
- - Build prototypes, MVPs, and production applications, choosing the right level of engineering for each stage.
- - Develop and integrate AI features, agents, and automation into existing products and workflows.
- - Work across unfamiliar codebases, domains, and team structures.
- - Bring lessons from customer projects into our own agentic software development product.
- - Take responsibility for the quality, reliability, and usefulness of what you ship.
## What you bring
- - Several years of software engineering experience, with a track record of shipping and maintaining production software.
- - Strong engineering fundamentals: architecture, debugging, maintainability, and sound technical tradeoffs.
- - A "Product-First" mindset — you care about which problems are worth solving and whether your work creates value for users.
- - A strong interest in using coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex, Pi and others.
- - The ability to learn new domains quickly, work independently, and collaborate effectively with different teams.
Our default stack for new projects and prototypes is React, TypeScript, Python, and PostgreSQL. Customer projects may use other technologies, so you should be comfortable working beyond a single stack.
