Chief of Staff — Deep Tech Momentum (DTM)

Our mission: build Europe's No. 1 Deep Tech & AI Innovation Marketplace - and be the undisputed leader on the continent. DTM27 will operate at 3x the scale of DTM26 across attendance, content, matchmaking, and operations.

To get there, we are building an online-offline flywheel: a business intelligence and matchmaking platform powered by Europe's premier Deep Tech conference and early-stage investment arm. Our objective is to catalyze €100B in additional enterprise procurement and €100B in venture capital into European Deep Tech & AI by 2030.

DTM has achieved substantial traction in just two years. Over 300 Deep Tech funds, 300+ corporate partners, and 1,000+ startups are already part of our ecosystem - alongside key partners including Lakestar, Vsquared, EIF, DCVC, SAP, Elaia, HV Capital, Earlybird, IQ Capital, McKinsey, BCG, Aumovio, BASF, The Exploration Company, Tekever, Axelera AI, Robco, Marvel Fusion and many others shaping Europe's Deep Tech landscape.

DTM26 - held in May 2026 at Wilhelm Studios, Berlin - was Europe's most ambitious Deep Tech innovation marketplace to date: 3,000+ attendees, 100 DTM100 startup pitches, 300+ corporate innovation leaders, and programming spanning Defence, Space, Energy, Advanced Materials, Manufacturing & Robotics, and High-Performance Computing, with AI as a cross-cutting layer. DTM.Capital, our early-stage investment vehicle, is going live and growing alongside the platform.

The Role

DTM is scaling fast, and we are hiring a Chief of Staff to fast track that growth.

This is a seat at the center of the company for someone who wants to operate as the founders' right hand. You will help us make the transition from startup to scaleup: sharpening strategy, building the team, co-establishing up DTM.Capital, and taking our model into new markets. Some of it is high-level thinking with the founders. A lot of it is rolling up your sleeves and getting things done.

If you want broad ownership over the direction of a company rather than a narrow function, this role was built for you.

Your Mission

Be the founders' sparring partner. Act as a trusted advisor and thinking partner across the hardest calls - strategy, fundraising, hiring, partnerships, and the strategic decisions that come with rapid growth.

Own finance. Build and run DTM's budgeting, forecasting, and scenario planning across the business, giving the founders a clear, current view of runway, unit economics, and the trade-offs behind every major call.

Build the team. Lead hiring across the company: defining roles, running processes, and bringing in the operators who will carry DTM through its next phase.

Shape strategy and the North Star. Help refine where DTM is going and why, keep the North Star sharp as the business expands, and translate it into priorities the whole team can move on.

Support investor relations. Manage and deepen relationships with DTM's investors and the fund's LPs - reporting, updates, and keeping the right people close as we grow.

Contribute to product and tech vision. Work with the founders and team on the direction of our platform - the business intelligence and matchmaking flywheel - and help shape the product and technology vision that underpins it.

Run the startup-to-scaleup transition. Build the operating cadence, processes, and alignment that let DTM grow from a founder-led startup into a scaleup that still moves fast.

Drive capital formation for DTM.Capital. Help build out our early-stage investment arm end to end: supporting the fundraise, LP relationships, structuring, and the operating setup that lets the fund scale alongside the platform.

Lead geo cloning. Take the DTM playbook and replicate it into new geographies, working out what travels, what needs to adapt, and how we stand out in new markets without losing what makes DTM work.

  • An entrepreneur at heart, energized by responsibility, ambiguity, and fast-paced environments.
  • A high-caliber operator with 4+ years in strategy consulting, venture capital, or a high-growth startup, ideally with exposure to C-level decision-making.
  • Highly analytical and structured, able to break down complex problems and turn strategy into action.
  • Exceptionally organized and reliable, with a track record of managing competing priorities without losing momentum.
  • Comfortable across both ends of the role: strategic thinking with the founders one hour, hands-on execution the next.
  • Curious about Deep Tech and the verticals we cover — Energy, Defence, Space, Future of Compute, Robotics & Industrial Tech, TechBio, and Advanced Materials. An interest in venture, capital formation, or product is a strong plus.
  • At home in Founder Mode, where resources are lim
