The role
We are now looking for a VP Group Finance to take a key role in safeguarding the integrity and timeliness of the Group's financial reporting, consolidation and internal control environment across all our markets and subsidiaries. You will report to our Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The role is based in our headquarter in Düsseldorf and frequent travel across Europe on a need basis is expected.
As VP Group Finance at The Nutriment Company, you will own the relationship with statutory auditors, banks and tax authorities, and act as a key finance partner in M&A integration and group-wide strategic projects. You will work in close cooperation with local finance teams to ensure a consistent, compliant and well-controlled financial organization across the Group.
Key responsibilities include:
Group Reporting & Consolidation
- Ensure accurate and on-time monthly, quarterly and yearly reporting, working in close cooperation with local finance teams in group subsidiaries
- Ensure consistent P&L and balance sheet reporting across all markets and legal entities to enable like-for-like comparison between different markets and business units
- Own the balance sheet and cash flow statements included in monthly reporting
- Ensure consistent monthly reporting across the Group and compliance with local GAAP and IFRS
- Own the consolidated yearly accounts and prepare the Group's financial statements in accordance with IFRS
- Drive continuous improvement of Group reporting processes, timelines and systems in tight collaboration with the VP of Business Control
ESG & Sustainability Reporting
- Responsible for quarterly ESG reporting and yearly CO2 emission calculations
- Ensure ESG and emissions data is collected consistently across markets and subsidiaries and reported in line with applicable requirements
Internal Control
- Own internal control across the Group, including the yearly self-assessment process
- Identify gaps in internal control and drive improvements and remediation together with local finance departments and teams
- Maintain and develop Group accounting policies and control frameworks around critical areas such as stock and gross margin tracking
Audit
- Own the relationship with statutory auditors and act as primary point of contact for Group audit matters
- Coordinate the Group audit across all markets and subsidiaries, ensuring timely delivery of audit documentation and resolution of findings, including coordinating communication of auditors' yearly reporting of findings and areas of improvement to the Board of Directors
Treasury & Bank Relations
- Owner of monthly bank reporting, including tracking of leverage and covenant compliance and preparation of quarterly and yearly compliance certificates
- Support cash flow forecasting and liquidity management across the Group in close connection with the FP&A function
- Own Group tax compliance, working with local teams and external advisors as needed, including responsibility for optimizing CIT across the Group (regional tax group setup together with external advisors and local teams)
- Prepare and maintain transfer pricing guidelines and documentation across the Group
- Monitor changes in tax legislation relevant to the Group's markets and assess their impact
M&A Integration & Support
- Lead the financial integration of acquired businesses, including nominal mapping to Group structure, historical data integration (up to 36 months) to the Group system, purchase price allocations, fund flow preparation and drawdown certificates
- Support the M&A team in financial due diligence to enable as seamless a post-acquisition integration as possible
Strategic & Cross-Functional Projects
- Act as a finance and legal partner in Group projects such as legal entity mergers, simplification of intercompany flows, and changes to financial systems and/or
