Since the foundation of Famedly in 2019, we have made it our goal to digitize medical communication processes in a privacy-compliant way and revolutionize the health system. As a dynamic, remote-first working startup with a growing and experienced team we sell messaging software to healthcare facilities and help improve treatment outcomes through easy communication between doctors, nurses and therapists. By using Famedly staff productivity increases and connectivity to primary systems ensures rapid adoption.

Tasks:

As a Rust developer (m/f/d) you'll work as part of a team of talented Rust developers of all levels, and your work will help take our software solution for the healthcare industry to the next level. Famedly relies on open source software and primarily uses Matrix and FHIR to modernize the healthcare industry. Although your work will mainly be around microservices based on Matrix, FHIR and other interfaces, you will always have the opportunity to dive into other Open Source projects as well. Some of these Open Source projects use languages other than Rust, which means you will also get the opportunity to sometimes work in languages like Python, TypeScript and Golang. That said, the bulk of the work you will be doing in this role is Rust development. You can find an overview at: github(dot)com/famedly

Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement scalable and secure backend systems
  • Collaborate with front-end developers, designers, and product managers to deliver high-quality software
  • Ensure code quality and maintain technical documentation
  • Identify and resolve performance and scalability issues
Requirements:
  • You have 5+ years experience in professional software development
  • You are a team player who can learn quickly and think creatively
  • You understand that communication is one of the most important skills for a developer.
  • You have some experience with Rust
  • You have experience in API design
  • You are not afraid to own the complete process from design to production
  • Bonus: You have a good understanding of Matrix, FHIR, decentral architecture and cryptography as well as some experience with working in agile teams.

A degree in Computer Science or a related field is a plus. However, we do not require a degree, but are more interested in your skills. Feel free to share your GitHub/GitLab profile with us.
