Stowage Planner (m/f/d) Vessel Cargo

This role is pivotal in ensuring the safe and efficient stowage of cargo for our fleet. The ideal candidate will be responsible for optimizing cargo operations through strategic planning and strong collaboration with terminals and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Stowage Planning: Develop and deliver detailed stowage plans to ensure safe and efficient cargo loading and unloading processes. Manage vessel/string operations under your charge to minimize operational costs and enhance efficiency.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with terminals and vessel command to refine operations and challenge existing limits and capabilities. Provide clear, timely, and accurate communications to all stakeholders including optimal crane split and adherence to pro-forma operational parameters.
• Operational Excellence: Monitor vessel operations to guarantee punctual and safe operations. Continuously assess and integrate environmental considerations, such as CII and ESI scores, to ensure compliance and promote smooth sailing.
• Productivity Improvement: Proactively identify and seize opportunities to enhance productivity and maximize cargo intake.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Experience: Proven background in liner vessel stowage, ideally as a Captain or Chief Mate. Strong understanding of the shipping industry with a strategic and operational mindset.
• Skills:
• Proficient in managing detailed stowage plans and adept in high-pressure situations.
• Excellent communication skills, with proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
• Highly structured, driven, with an open-minded approach to continuous improvement and problem-solving.
• Ability to remain composed and effective under pressure, consistently delivering through changing circumstances.
• Characteristics: A resilient and result-oriented team player who thrives in an international and dynamic environment. Must be flexible with work hours to manage diverse vessel schedules and berthing windows effectively.
