We're seeking an experienced professional with a strategic mindset and a hands-on approach to lead our solar PV utility-scale projects, to be based in Germany.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the development of international utility-scale solar PV projects from initial site identification to commissioning, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
- Identify suitable PV projects in various stages of development.
- Negotiating and closing project development contracts to secure the required services with international development partners.
- Collaborate with landowners, local authorities, utility companies, and regulatory bodies to secure necessary permits and approvals.
- Work closely with engineering teams to design efficient and cost-effective solar PV systems, ensuring technical feasibility and compliance with industry standards.
- Conduct thorough financial modelling and analysis to assess project viability, optimize investment returns, and secure project financing.
- Identify and mitigate project risks through proactive planning and effective problem-solving strategies, ensuring smooth project execution.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years in project development within the renewable energy sector, specifically in utility-scale solar PV projects.
- A degree in renewable energy, environmental engineering, MBA or comparable studies.
- Strong understanding of solar PV technology, project design, and engineering principles, with the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Familiarity with German renewable energy regulations, permitting processes, and environmental impact assessments.
- Knowledge in financial modelling and analysis, with a grasp of project finance, budgeting, and economic evaluation.
- Fluent in German and English, with excellent communication and negotiation skills to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel.
