Job Overview:
The Head of Cyber Security is responsible for leading and managing the organization’s cybersecurity efforts in-house. This role involves developing and implementing strategies to protect the organization’s information assets, data, and systems from cyber threats. The Head of Cyber Security will lead a dedicated team, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and effectively managing security incidents.
Responsibilities':
Develop and implement a comprehensive in-house cybersecurity strategy that aligns with the organization’s goals.
Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity threats, technologies, and best practices to proactively safeguard the organization.
Collaborate with senior leadership to integrate cybersecurity into all business operations.
Risk Management:
Identify and assess cybersecurity risks within the organization and develop mitigation strategies.
Establish and maintain security policies, procedures, and controls tailored to the organization’s needs.
Conduct regular security assessments and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Team Leadership:
Lead and manage an in-house team of cybersecurity professionals, providing mentorship and development opportunities.
Allocate resources effectively, including budget management, staffing, and technology investments.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the cybersecurity team.
Develop and maintain an incident response plan, ensuring the team is prepared to respond effectively to security incidents.
Lead the in-house response to cybersecurity incidents, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders as necessary.
Conduct post-incident reviews and implement improvements to enhance the organization’s response capabilities.
Compliance and Governance:
Ensure the organization complies with relevant cybersecurity laws, regulations, and industry standards, such as GDPR and ISO 27001.
Develop and maintain in-house cybersecurity policies, procedures, and documentation.
Serve as the primary contact for cybersecurity audits and assessments.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Communicate cybersecurity risks and strategies to senior leadership and the board of directors.
Work closely with IT, legal, and compliance teams to ensure a cohesive approach to cybersecurity across the organization.
Engage with external partners and regulatory bodies to strengthen the organization’s cybersecurity posture.
Technology and Innovation:
Oversee the selection, implementation, and management of in-house cybersecurity technologies and tools.
Drive innovation by exploring and integrating new cybersecurity technologies and approaches.
Ensure the security architecture supports the organization’s business objectives and digital transformation efforts.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or equivalent.
Experience:
Minimum of 8 years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Proven experience in developing and implementing in-house cybersecurity strategies in a complex organization.
Strong experience in managing security incidents, risk management, and compliance within an organization.
Skills:
Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience in leading in-house teams.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Deep knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, tools, and best practices.
Fluent in English; proficiency in German is highly desirable.
