Senior Software Entwickler Rust/C/C++

Powerful new quantum technologies promise tremendous benefits, but also pose serious threats to cybersecurity. We are currently recruiting a full-time Senior Software Developer contributing to our quantum-safe key establishment and key management products for the EMEA market. You will work with our quantum security solutions and help make the world a quantum-safe place.  


Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Make significant contributions to the design, development, and maintenance of the software and firmware of our quantum-safe key establishment and key management products; 
  • Analyze requirements and develop innovative solutions; 
  • Modify existing software products to add new functions, adapt to new hardware, improve performance, and enhance usability; 
  • Design and development of test environments, including assistance in development of test equipment for production partners and suppliers; 
  • Prioritize multiple activities and schedule own time to deliver against agreed objectives; and 
  • Mentor other team members providing technical leadership and expertise. 


Qualifications – Must Have: 

  • MSc in computer science, electrical engineering or similar qualification; 
  • Hands-on experience in Rust development and other high-level programming languages; 
  • 10+ years of experience in commercial software development and maintenance, including (Git-based) version control and software-based review processes; 
  • 5+ years of experience with cybersecurity products; 
  • Good knowledge of cryptography and security standards; 
  • Experience working in Linux and Windows operating environments; 
  • You are a problem solver with a drive for high quality; 
  • You have strong communication and team collaboration skills; 
  • You are fluent in English and German; 


Qualifications – Nice to Have: 

  • Working knowledge and experience in embedded SW development; 
  • Experience with agile software development processes; 
  • Experience in C/C++ development; 
  • Experience with pre- and post-sales customer interaction; 
  • Experience with post-quantum cryptography (PQC); 
  • Experience with quantum key distribution (QKD); 
  • Experience with development of integrations of company software into third-party products; 
  • Experience with development of hardware-based products such as gateways, firewalls, key management appliances, or hardware security modules; 
  • Experience with certifications or audits, preferably in the field of cybersecurity products (e.g., FIPS or Common Criteria).
