With the help of our software solutions, customers can operate their test benches around the clock.

As a Resident Engineer (m/f/d), you will be responsible for the continuous improvement of our PAtools software applications together with our developers. You will independently carry out the commissioning of functional enhancements and provide on-site service. You will use your expertise to support customers in the specification and design of automatable processes, test item controls and measurement tasks. You will also be responsible for fault analysis and maintenance of our installations. You will be representing Emerson and provide sales support when required. In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Further development of our PAtools Powertrain applications. This includes fault analysis, parameterisation in PAtools, function specification and integration of test item controls and measurement technology.
  • Maintenance and customisation of our PAtools applications for mechanical component testing. This includes deriving new test bench controls from existing application modules, integrating measurement technology and commissioning and optimising controllers (hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical control systems)
  • Creating device simulations for sequence tests in PAtools.
  • Preparation of technical specifications (e.g. for DUT communication) for NI application development.
  • Supporting and advising the customer's test engineers in the parameterisation of automated test runs and measurement campaigns.
  • Providing technical suggestions for the integration of DUTs and devices into the PAtools automation software and the Test Field Management software.
  • Communicating closely with colleagues from Development and Sales about innovations, application customisations and development trends.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • University degree in the field of mechatronics, computer science or comparable
  • Knowledge of electrical and mechanical system planning
  • Reading and interpreting system and building plans (circuit diagram, hydraulic plan, TGA)
  • Experience in dealing with measurement technology and control components
  • Initial experience with PLC programming and automation software
  • Good knowledge of bus systems for data transmission (CAN, Profinet, EtherCAT)
  • Basic knowledge of the design and optimisation of controllers
  • Systematic, independent way of working, customer-orientated, strong communication skills
  • Fluent communication in German


Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

  • Completed vocational training in a trade is also an advantage
  • Previous work experience in the automotive industry desirable
