For our Institute of Transportation Systems in Braunschweig we are looking for a Student Game Development, Game Design or Game Production (f/m/x), Design of serious games in the context of digitised mobility
Das erwartet Sie:At the DLR Institute of Transportation Systems we conduct research into technologies for the intermodal connected and automated transport of the future on road and rail. To achieve this, we are working in interdisciplinary teams with a total of 250 scientists on the development of innovative operating concepts and methods. Our goal is to ensure climate-neutral and sustainable mobility in cities and regions. During the development of solutions for the intermodal traffic system, our Institute takes into account the requirements of both the users and the operators. Through the analysis of the required information flows, we support the planning and operation of intermodal overall systems and provide the basis for their technical and operational validation and verification. These systems make it possible to strengthen local public transport and make cities and regions more attractive. For transport hubs such as airports, railway stations or bus stops, we research and optimise infrastructures, processes and the interlinking of all modes of transport. This enables us to increase the safety and predictability of the transport of people and goods.
Serious games are being developed at DLR's Institute of Transportation Systems with the aim of supporting the mobility transition and involving users in the research.
In the Information Flow Modelling in Mobility Systems department, we are looking for students with an interest in this field who have to complete a corresponding internship as part of their training.
Your tasks will mainly involve working on serious game projects relating to transport and mobility. You will independently conceptualise, develop and design parts of the (computer) games and thus play a key role in shaping them. Depending on your specialisation, we offer internships for more artistic or programming-oriented tasks.
Das erwarten wir von Ihnen:- enrolment at a university in a subject area in which game development, game design or game production are essential contents
- language skills in English or German (at least B2)
- We expect more artistically orientated students to have
- ideally knowledge in the field of 3D modelling and/or 2D design
- initial experience with common software solutions (3DS Max, Adobe or equivalent) is a plus
- We expect more programming-orientated students to have
- ideally experience with a game engine (e.g. Godot, Unreal)
- experience with a programming language (C++, C# or equivalent) is a plus
