Head of Risk – Financial Institution (Munich) I am currently seeking a seasoned Head of Risk to lead and strengthen the Risk Management function in line with Solvency II, BaFin, and group-wide standards. This senior role offers exposure across the European business and group-level initiatives.Key Responsibilities:Oversee and enhance the risk framework, ensuring alignment with Solvency II, BaFin.Hold the Risk Management regulatory function for the company and provide oversight across all European branches.Partner with the Executive team (CEO, CFO, CUO, Chief Actuary, Compliance) to embed a strong risk culture and governance framework.Lead the ORSA process, including stress, scenario, and reverse stress testing, and contribute to capital management planning.Maintain risk registers and reporting processes, ensuring consistent identification, assessment, and monitoring of key risks.Key Requirements:Fluent in German and English (written and spoken); French a plus.Proven experience in a regulated risk function within the (re)insurance industry, meeting BaFin criteria.Strong knowledge of Solvency II Pillar 2, risk governance, and regulatory expectations.Excellent report writing, stakeholder engagement, and presentation skills.Strategic mindset with the ability to operate independently and deliver under pressure.
