FIRE SAFETY ENGINEER
(6 MONTHS CONTRACT + POSSIBLE EXTENSION)
Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Fire Safety Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fire safety systems, building regulations, and risk assessment procedures. As a Fire Safety Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and ensuring compliance with fire safety standards, conducting fire risk assessments, and advising on safety measures to minimize fire risks within buildings and facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Fire Risk Assessment & Safety Audits: Conduct comprehensive fire risk assessments for a variety of buildings, including residential, commercial, and industrial properties, identifying potential fire hazards and recommending mitigation measures.
Design & Implement Fire Safety Systems: Develop fire protection strategies and design fire safety systems such as alarm systems, fire suppression, and emergency evacuation plans, ensuring they meet local building codes and regulations.
Compliance & Regulatory Standards: Ensure that all fire safety systems and procedures are in compliance with relevant fire safety codes, regulations, and industry standards (e.g., NFPA, BS 9999, Fire Safety Order).
Fire Safety Plans & Documentation: Prepare and review fire safety plans, reports, and documentation, including emergency response plans, evacuation procedures, and fire safety training materials.
Fire Safety Training: Deliver fire safety training to staff and management teams, educating them on the use of fire equipment, evacuation procedures, and the importance of maintaining a safe environment.
Fire Protection Equipment: Provide recommendations for the installation, inspection, and maintenance of fire protection systems and equipment, such as fire extinguishers, sprinklers, and fire doors.
Emergency Response & Coordination: Advise on emergency response procedures and coordinate fire drills, ensuring preparedness for potential fire-related emergencies.
Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on the latest fire safety technologies, regulatory changes, and best practices, integrating new knowledge into existing safety protocols.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Fire Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field. A master's degree or certifications in fire safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IFSM, or equivalent) is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of [X] years of experience in fire safety engineering, with a proven track record in fire risk assessments, safety design, and compliance management.
- Knowledge of Fire Safety Regulations: Extensive knowledge of fire safety standards and regulations (local and international), including codes such as NFPA, BS 9999, and fire safety management systems.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with fire protection systems (alarms, sprinklers, suppression systems) and advanced fire modeling tools.
- Analytical Thinking: Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify fire risks and devise appropriate strategies to mitigate hazards.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German, with the ability to explain technical fire safety concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to conduct thorough fire risk assessments and ensure all fire safety systems are installed and maintained to a high standard.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications in Fire Safety Engineering or Fire Risk Assessment (e.g., Fire Safety Engineer, Chartered Engineer).
- Experience working with construction teams, architects, and building contractors to design and implement fire safety solutions.
- Familiarity with CAD or other design software related to fire safety planning.
