Job Summary:
As an HR Advisor based in Hannover, you will play a critical role in supporting our HR operations and contributing to the overall success of the HR function. With a dedicated HR Administrator handling day-to-day administrative tasks, your primary focus will be on projects, advising management on HR-related matters, and supporting the integration of two recently acquired organizations. This integration process will require moving to a unified set of policies and procedures.
In the near future, this role will become part of a newly established European HR organization, meaning you will be involved in European-wide projects and initiatives. Fluency in English in addition to German, is essential for this role. Please note that only candidates with the right to live and work in Germany will be considered, and basic knowledge of German labour law is required.
We expect the incumbent to be in the office 4 days per week out of five, allowing for direct collaboration with the team in Hanover and ensuring a hands-on approach to HR management.
Key Responsibilities:
HR Administration Support:
Oversee the work of the HR Administrator, ensuring accuracy and compliance in HR processes such as employee records management, benefits administration, and payroll support.
Step in to provide assistance or cover for the HR Administrator during peak times, ensuring seamless HR service delivery.
Handle more complex HR administrative tasks that may require additional expertise.
Employee Relations:
Provide first-line support to employees and managers on HR-related queries, ensuring consistent application of company policies and procedures.
Assist in conflict resolution, disciplinary processes, and employee grievances.
Recruitment & Onboarding:
Support recruitment efforts by coordinating interviews, drafting job descriptions, and managing candidate communication.
Facilitate the onboarding process for new employees, ensuring a smooth transition into the company.
HR Projects:
Take the lead on or contribute to HR projects that align with the company’s strategic objectives, such as employee engagement initiatives, diversity and inclusion programs, or talent development strategies.
Support the integration of two recently acquired organizations, working to consolidate and harmonize HR policies and procedures across the company.
Participate in European-wide HR projects as part of the newly established European HR organization.
Advisory Role:
Provide expert advice to management on HR best practices, employment law, and organizational development.
Support managers in addressing performance issues, succession planning, and workforce planning.
Compliance and Reporting:
Ensure compliance with all relevant labor laws and regulations, with particular attention to German labor law.
Prepare and analyze HR metrics and reports to inform decision-making and identify trends or areas for improvement.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience:
3-5 years of experience in an HR generalist or advisor role, with a solid understanding of HR practices and procedures.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of local labor laws and HR compliance requirements, with basic knowledge of German labor law.
Fluency in English is a must; additional European languages are a plus.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
