Photonic Computing Architect

To pioneer new quantum architectures utilizing the photonic quantum platform, a profound grasp of quantum optical principles governing our photonic hardware is paramount. The objective is to leverage this understanding to harness the quantum advantage. Collaborating closely with the hardware experts, together you will formulate comprehensive system specifications that facilitate the manufacturing of corresponding photonic chips. This, in turn, positions to execute quantum algorithms tailored to address specific industrial applications.


Responsibilities

  • Convert intricate computations and algorithms into effective optical systems by utilizing photonics' special advantages to improve performance, power economy, and scalability.
  • Create and design photonic computing systems for analog computing, optimization, and AI applications.
  • Create and run simulations at the system level to assess performance indicators and enhance system architecture.
  • Work closely with product managers, engineers, and physicists in cross-functional teams to establish system needs and specifications.
  • Keep up with the most recent developments in AI, analog computing, and photonic computing to guide your product development plans and technological roadmap.


Qualifications

  • A PhD in Physics, Optics, Electrical Engineering, or a similar discipline plus at least three years of postdoctoral or industry experience
  • Robust experience in photonic computing with a track record of effectively converting algorithms into optical devices that yield measurable benefits
  • Mastery of simulation tools for system-level modeling and performance analysis, such as Python, MATLAB, or an equivalent
  • Proficient in solving problems and adapting to the rapidly changing technologies and approaches in photonic computing, along with a strong drive to grow professionally and acquire new abilities in an innovative, fast-paced work environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, with the capacity to explain complicated technical ideas to a wide range of stakeholders
