System Architect QuantumTechnologies (m/f/d)

We are looking for supportof our quantum systems and technology development team. Are youinterested in shaping the future of the European securecommunication infrastructure and developing groundbreakingsolutions for our customers? YourTasks
  • Design, develop and accommodatetechnical baseline solutions of satellite-based quantumcommunication systems on the basis of customer requirements andbudgets
  • Technically coordinate amultidisciplinary engineering team in order to integrate quantumand classical communication, in particular with referenceto:
  • Quantum SystemArchitecture Definition andJustification
  • InterfaceDefinition
  • Development LogicDefinition
  • Coordination of related performanceanalysis
  • Lead theengineering team effort for design trade-offs between the involveddisciplines such as: thermal, structural, mechanical, optical andelectrical
  • Collaborate closely with technicalmanagement and other engineering disciplines (e.g. PerformanceAnalysis, V&V Engineering, Subsystems Engineering andSpacecraft Systems Engineering)
  • Document thesystem architecture and create technical specifications of systemsand subsystems
  • Derive security systemrequirements specifications and develop securityconcepts
  • Ensure proper flow-down and allocationof lower-level subsystem requirements and budgets and maintain themup to date
  • Definition of study logic, workbreakdown and work packages
  • Develop prototypesand carry out tests to validate the systemarchitecture
  • Management of work packages andsub-projects
  • Conduct feasibility studies andrisk analyses
  • Act as an interface with thecustomer and lead technical discussions with regard tounderstanding the customer's requirements, their feasibility andjustification that the system baseline meets the customer'srequirements
YourQualifications
  • Master/PhD Degree inphysics, electrical engineering, computer science, quantum opticsor a related field
  • Sound knowledge of quantummechanics and its application in communicationsystems
  • Several years of experience in systemarchitectures, ideally in the field of quantum communication orrelated technologies
  • Experience with modernsoftware and hardware architectures
  • Experiencein MBSE would be an advantage
  • Excellentanalytical and problem-solving skills
  • Abilityto work in a team with a self-managed and pro-active workingstyle
  • Strong communicationskills
  • Motivation to actively participate inspace-based missions to secure future European datacommunications
