About the role

As the Engineering Manager, you'll lead our Wallet engineering team, scaling and driving Safe{Wallet}'s growth alongside the product lead. You'll shape both the product and team development, impacting the future of the Safe project, utilized by teams and individuals managing high-value digital assets.

  • Smart contracts: Written in Solidity
  • Backend services: Written in TypeScript and Python, hosted at AWS, orchestrated via Kubernetes
  • Web app: Modern web tech stack with React.js and Next.js
  • Mobile apps: Currently Kotlin and Swift, potentially ReactNative or similar in the future
  • Extensive test suites: E2E via Cypress, Postman, Unit tests in TypeScript/Jest


What you will be doing

  • Manage growth, hiring, goal setting, and performance of Safe{Wallet} engineering team, ensuring quality, scalability, and security.
  • Oversee tech leads and coordinate between web, backend, and mobile subteams.
  • Facilitate system architectural decisions, propose process improvements, and provide strategic feedback on product roadmap.
  • Coordinate with Safe{Core}, external partners, and stakeholders on technical decisions and synergies.
  • Establish accountability and processes, own documentation, and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
  • Lead product development process, evaluate resource needs, and plan Safe{Wallet} tech team growth.


Requirements

  • 8+ years software engineering experience with a strategic progression.
  • Leadership in full-cycle software product development.
  • Technical proficiency in:

- Redis/memcached, PostgreSQL/similar, Celery/similar.

- Kubernetes, Kibana/Grafana/other monitoring tools, AWS/similar, Git (GitHub).

- Scalable system architecture (monolith vs. microservices, Gateway services).

- Mobile frameworks and web development.

  • Experience leading teams in startups or larger organizations, including mentoring, interviewing, and OKR outlining.
  • Familiarity with complex development processes of large teams.
  • Ability to conduct internal workshops and meetings for major initiatives.
  • Experience with agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
