Reactive Oxygen Therapeutics (ROT) is an early-stage pre-seed start-up based in Erlangen. ROT is dedicated to the treatment of health conditions triggered by inflammation, such as autoimmune diseases and cancer. We utilize a novel small molecule prodrug strategy designed to activate exclusively within cells experiencing oxidative stress, addressing the patient's condition without harming healthy tissues.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Co-founder Immunology at Reactive Oxygen Therapeutics. The Co-founder Immunology will be responsible for leading research, developing innovative strategies for the treatment of inflammatory conditions, and working closely with the team to advance the company's vision in immunology and healthcare.
Responsibilities
You will build up the research and development department and develop scientific solutions in a structured theoretical and experimental manner, actively seeking solutions and generating new ideas.
You will develop and validate biochemical assays regarding structure-activity relationships of active substances in cancer and primary immune cells.
Furthermore, you will enhance existing methods, implement new state-of-the-art analysis methods, and independently conduct analyses and assays using analytical methods.
You will work in close collaboration with the project leader/designated CEO on searching for in vivo/preclinical partners and CROs.
You will continuously update your expertise in the field.
Qualifications
- PhD or MD in Biochemistry, Immunology or Medicine (including candidates who are finishing the degree soon).
- Entrepreneurial experience or education is a plus.
- Minimum of three years of professional experience in oncology, immunology or immuno-oncology (including academia).
- Biochemical knowledge (assay development) is a must.
- Animal in vivo model experience is a plus.
- Experience in project management.
- Proficient in standard IT applications and statistical programs.
- Very good command of English.
