The Department of Neurophysiology of the Medical Faculty Mannheim of Heidelberg University is looking for a full-time

Research Associate / Postdoc (m/f/d)

The temporary position is available as of 01.10.2024.

Your tasks:
  • Translational preclinical basic research in the field of synaptic physiology
  • Functional and structural multiphoton microscopy and optogenetics in vivo
  • Investigation of synaptic dynamics in the context of neuronal network function
  • Participation in the development of new projects, new methods and the acquisition of third-party funding
  • Participation in preclinical teaching in physiology in the MaReCum model study program
Your skills:
  • Doctoral degree in a biological, physical or medical field
  • Relevant experience in imaging and microscopy techniques and their application
  • Programming skills and animal experimental experience are also desired
  • High degree of independence, motivation, communication skills and ability to work in a team
  • Sufficient German language skills and experience for participation in teaching
