We are looking for an experienced Network Security Engineer to support our client based in Darmstadt, Germany.
In this key role, you will support with the evaluation and improvement of our client’s current and future IT security level by providing additional security engineering resources to design and support the implementation of state-of-the-art security solutions.
Tasks and Activities
The scope of work will include:
- Participation in design activities with focus on network security solutions and infrastructure.
- Operation of network security solutions and infrastructure.
- Troubleshooting and anomaly resolution of network security solutions and infrastructure.
- Maintenance and evolution/reengineering of network security solutions and infrastructure.
- Execution of security assessments with focus on network equipment.
- Support activities including on-call service outside normal working hours (24/7).
- Provide monthly work package report inputs.
Skills and Experience
The following skills and experience are mandatory:
- A Master’s degree or equivalent from an accredited university with 8 or more years of relevant, security-related experience.
- Experience leading technical staff and/or junior engineers/scientists.
- A working knowledge of IT foundations (e.g. network, OS and application).
- Knowledge of vulnerability management, in particular performing vulnerability assessments.
- Proficient in technical writing.
- Able to deliver the expected performance without support, feedback and/or follow-up checks.
- Basic knowledge of ISO/IEC 27001 and 27002.
Knowledge and experience in the following:
- Service delivery and managing a team of engineering on a customer’s premises.
- Designing, implementing and delivering large scale enterprise network and information security solutions.
- Administration and maintenance of network and information security solutions.
- Auditing and implementation of corrective actions of firewall configuration.
- Administration and maintenance of firewalls (i.e. Cisco ASA, Cisco FirePower and Palo Alto).
- Patching and hardening of infrastructure in an operational environment.
- Incident response.
- Able to provide 24-7 stand-by/on call services.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
