Design Engineer

Are you passionate about advancing technology and solving complex challenges in high-performance cables and connectors? Do you want to work within the rapidly growing semiconductor market? If so, we have this excellent opportunity to join a leading supplier of test equipment as a Design Specialist
As a member of the R&D team, you'll play a crucial role in defining and the design of cable and interface solutions for complex test tools. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with cross-functional teams and other stakeholders to define performance and qualification requirements, working closely with external partners to design and implement interconnect solutions, ensuring integration and mechanical fit into the platform, and driving common standards for interconnect solutions across modules.
We are looking for someone with the following experience to excel in this role.
- University degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or comparable
- Strong know-how and practical experience in connection and contact technologies (solder, crimp, connector technologies, contact probes, spring-loaded pins) and related properties (contact resistance, leakage, current capabilities, signal integrity)
- Know-how and wide practical experience with high-speed signal integrity and related measurement techniques (Reflectometry Scan, S-Parameter Measurements, impedance matching, spectral analysis)
- Know how in Material Science and Metallurgy
- Experience with failure analysis tasks, tolerance analyses, environmental and reliability testing, FMEA techniques
- Strong teamwork and problem-solving skills, superior communication skills (cross-functional, internal/external, cross-cultural) across hierarchy levels
- Strong self-management.
- Fluent English language skills
