Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join the executive leadership team of a pioneering biotech company. The COO will be responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of the company's global activities, focusing on scaling operations, enhancing process efficiency, and supporting the commercialization of innovative diagnostic products in molecular diagnostics and proteomics. This is an opportunity to lead in a high-growth environment, ensuring operational excellence and contributing to the company’s success in global markets.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Leadership: Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with business objectives to support growth in the biotech and molecular diagnostics sector.
  • Team Management: Lead cross-functional teams in R&D, manufacturing, and commercial operations, ensuring alignment with company goals.
  • Product Development & Launch: Oversee product development cycles and global launches, ensuring regulatory compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Process Improvement: Optimize supply chains, manufacturing processes, and operational workflows to enhance scalability.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to industry standards such as ISO, CE, and FDA regulations for diagnostic products.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with business development teams to support partnerships and market expansion.
  • Financial Oversight: Collaborate with the CFO to manage budgets and operational costs effectively.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Master's degree in Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field; an MBA is a plus.
  • Experience:
  • 10+ years of experience in operations, with 5+ years in a leadership role, ideally within biotech, diagnostics, or life sciences.
  • Proven ability to scale operations in a dynamic, innovative environment.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and product commercialisation in the biotech sector.
  • Skills:
  • Leadership: Strong team management and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategy: Ability to create and execute operational strategies for growth.
  • Operations: Expertise in process optimisation and quality assurance.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
