For our client, a German subsidiary of an international pharmaceutical company, we are searching for a
National Sales Director GER/AT (m/f/d)
who will be responsible for leading the sales team across different product lines. The National Sales Director is reporting directly to the GM Germany and as part of the leadership team will be responsible for developing strategies, tactics and business plans to achieve financial targets.
We are searching for a strategic mind, with a strong capability to implement and to work operationally.
Responsibility
- Lead regional sales teams to achieve sales targets while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Analyse performance data to identify improvement areas, implement targeted actions, and present findings to senior management.
- Deliver accurate sales forecasts, manage budgets, and design incentive schemes for the Field Force.
- Plan and execute organizational changes to enhance business processes and capabilities.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement to boost customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
- Attract, train, and retain top talent, providing coaching and development support to managers.
- Monitor and evaluate Field Force performance using KPIs and implement action plans to achieve objectives.
- Build relationships with key opinion leaders and stakeholders, representing the organization across regions.
- Collaborate with internal teams (Customer Insights, Marketing, Medical) to refine sales and engagement strategies.
Your profile
We are searching for an experienced sales manager who embraces a passion for innovation, agility, and continuous learning to drive meaningful impact, while working collaboratively in high-performance teams committed to growth and shared purpose.
- Master’s degree in medicine, pharmacy, business or related field
- Additional management education is preferred
- At least 7 years of experience in a regional managerial role within the pharmaceutical industry, specializing in Sales and Field Force management; prior experience as a National Sales Manager (NSM) is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated success in achieving sales targets, launching new products, and managing established portfolios.
- Deep understanding of market dynamics, including trends and competitive landscapes.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data effectively.
- Expertise in change management, including planning and execution.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and drive large sales teams toward achieving business goals.
- Expertise in change management and building organizational capabilities.
- Business-oriented, proactive, and capable of balancing strategic and operational responsibilities.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret market data, sales reports, and financial metrics to guide decision-making.
- Knowledge of related business functions, including Marketing, Commercial, Finance, and HR.
- Fluent in German and English.
