Senior Project Manager – Construction (BESS) | Germany (m/w/d)I’m currently working with a well backed, fast growing energy storage developer that’s expanding its footprint across Germany and wider Europe. They’re looking to hire a Senior Project Manager (Construction) to take ownership of a flagship BESS project in Germany, with longer term exposure to European projects as the portfolio scales.This is a senior, end to end delivery role sitting on the owner/developer side, ideal for someone who enjoys autonomy, responsibility, and complex infrastructure projects at scale.The RoleYou’ll lead the construction delivery of large scale battery storage projects, working across EPC and multi contract strategies, and acting as the key interface between technical, contractual, and local stakeholder groups.Key responsibilities include:End to end project management of utility scale BESS projectsManaging EPC and major construction contracts (cost, schedule, quality, claims)Acting as the on site interface with local authorities, municipalities, landowners, and stakeholdersEnsuring compliance with German permitting and environmental requirements (BImSchG)Leading technical coordination with German TSOs alongside senior technical leadershipFull project controls ownership (budgeting, risk registers, reporting, trackers)Oversight of safety coordination (SiGeKo) in line with BaustellVManaging the Owner’s Engineer and technical assurance processTranslating technical and regulatory developments into clear, commercial reporting for senior leadership (Germany & UK)Additional Scope (for the right profile)Technical due diligence on projects moving from development into constructionSupporting procurement and tendering processes, including supplier negotiationsInvolvement in project financing and lender technical due diligencePotential exposure to projects outside Germany as the portfolio growsYour BackgroundDegree in Engineering / Electrical Engineering (or strong equivalent experience)Proven experience as a Project Manager, ideally on the client/owner side or with a Tier 1 contractorExperience delivering large scale electricity or grid connected infrastructure projectsStrong understanding of construction, contracts, and risk managementConfident leading experienced site teams and engaging with senior stakeholdersWillingness to travel regularly to siteLanguages (essential):German – Business fluent (written & spoken)English – Business fluent (written & spoken)What’s on OfferSenior, high impact role in a future proof sectorStrong autonomy and visibility on landmark projectsLong-term development opportunities as the platform scalesCompetitive salary with performance linked upsideFlexible working model (office / remote)Modern office base in MunichIf this sounds relevant, or if you’d like to setup a conversation to understand the project, client, or long term growth plans, feel free to message me directly or drop me a note.
