Network Operation Engineer

We are hiring for our client in Germany (Berlin) for an Hybrid freelance and full time Network Engineer. Pressence needed in berlin 1 week/monthly.
The individual must have at least 4 years operation experience in enterprise and data center network environments in large-scale data center context.
The individual should be able to clearly communicate with peers and engineers about the status of the environment. Problem analysis and resolution competencies which covering the dependencies to layers above and below the operating system.
Base knowledge about network and routing enabling the communication with the network team.
Must have:
- Cisco ACI and Juniper network operation
Adjust / maintain the network environment in line with the documentation by usage of existing scripts following the structured process through the landscape (Dev/Test/QA/Prod)
- Protocols to be supported are BGP, ISIS, OSPF, IPSec, IPAM
- Palo Alto network management and operation
Management and configuration of access control lists and their maintenance
- Network management / automation. Automation integration with Ansible.
- Ability to align with software development team using Python.
- Usage of DevOps and system management tools
- Ability to evaluate network and firewall log files for Incident management, also in complex and large scale network environments
- System analysis for Incident Management and to support Problem Management
- Experience to use Jira, Confluence and Miro.
Preferred competencies:
RHEL, Ubuntu, LDAP, OIDC, OAUTH, PKI Certificates, HashiCorp Vault and Packer, CIS Hardening, NetApp, Ceph, common applications like Apache Webserver, Nginx, git, PostgreSQL; Gitlab (Repo and Pipeline).

The operator has the knowledge to operate the in-scope environment asdefined.
Integration into processes:
The Network Operation Engineer follows the designed processes to achievesuccessful work and collaboration as well as detailed documentation.
Continuous Improvement and Adaptation:
The Network Operation Engineer actively validates the status of the documentations in his responsibility and ensures to create and update the documentation (operational runbook).
He actively informs his team lead and the engineers about detected deviations and required patches as well as configuration adjustments.
He further reports observations in case configuration do not deliver the required security standards.
Effective Collaboration and Communication:
The Network Operation Engineer does have the capability to explain technical requirements properly. He has an open mindset to collaborate within technical alignments.
Self-Organization:
The Network Operation Engineer has the capability to organize the work handed over according to prioritization and complexity.
He tracks the status and reports actively. In case further information is required, he will actively investigate to find the relevant contact and start resolving the issue aligned with the
engineers.
