Role Overview: The Azure Cloud Architect will be responsible for designing, planning, and implementing our cloud migration strategy. This role requires a deep understanding of Azure services, cloud architecture, and best practices for migrating complex on-premises environments to the cloud. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial services, ensuring compliance and security standards are met throughout the migration process.


Key Responsibilities:


Cloud Architecture Design:

  • Design and implement Azure cloud solutions that meet business requirements and industry standards.
  • Develop and document architectural blueprints and guidelines for cloud infrastructure.
  • Ensure high availability, scalability, and disaster recovery planning.

Migration Planning and Execution:

  • Assess current on-premises infrastructure and applications to develop a comprehensive migration strategy.
  • Create detailed migration plans, including timelines, resources, and risk management.
  • Lead the execution of migration activities, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.

Technical Leadership:

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the migration team.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, security, and business stakeholders, to align cloud strategies with organizational goals.
  • Stay up-to-date with Azure advancements and integrate new features and best practices into the migration process.

Security and Compliance:

  • Implement robust security measures to protect data and applications in the cloud.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal policies.
  • Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify and mitigate risks.

Performance Optimization:

  • Monitor and optimize cloud performance, cost, and scalability.
  • Implement automation and DevOps practices to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to the cloud infrastructure.


Daily To-Do's:

  • Review and refine architectural designs and migration plans.
  • Conduct daily stand-up meetings with the migration team to track progress and address issues.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements.
  • Perform hands-on migration tasks, including data transfer, application reconfiguration, and testing.
  • Monitor cloud infrastructure performance and implement improvements as needed.
  • Conduct security reviews and apply necessary patches and updates.
  • Document processes, configurations, and changes for knowledge sharing and compliance purposes.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on migration status and key metrics.


Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in cloud architecture and migration, with a focus on Microsoft Azure.
  • Strong understanding of Azure services (e.g., Virtual Machines, Azure SQL Database, Azure Active Directory, Azure DevOps, etc.).
  • Experience with cloud security, networking, and compliance in the financial sector.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Azure CLI, ARM templates, Terraform).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Azure certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert).
  • Experience with hybrid cloud environments and multi-cloud strategies.
  • Knowledge of financial industry regulations and standards (e.g., PCI-DSS, GDPR).
