Financial Controller

JDRoss are working with a developer of solar and battery storage projects who are looking for a financial controller in Germany.
Your future tasks
- Managing all day-to-day accounting operations - Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger management, balance sheet control, and reconciliations
- Assist in the centralization of our finance operations in Germany and bring it in-house.
- Overall responsibility for management and statutory financial accounting and reporting for all operating entities / SPVs in the managed Group to ensure accurate and complete financial information.
- Review financial results and produce monthly reports with relevant information
- Preparation of monthly management reports to the UK for all entities in Germany and working closely with UK finance to resolve queries on time.
- Group operates on tight deadlines so you will need to be flexible to accommodate and assist with deliveries on time every quarter.
- Management of VAT returns and work together with the external accountant to apply for VAT refunds.
- Responsible for all project costs OPEX and CAPEX. Reconciliation of costs spend per project.
- Liaising with the development team, ensuring efficient reporting and provision of information
- Responsible for accounts receivable and accounts payable as well as payment management
- Ensure the timely and qualitative disclosure of our tax reports and annual accounts and liaise with external accountants where applicable.
- Working closely with the local development team and the UK Finance team, you will be responsible for maintaining, improving, and further developing the accounting processes in Germany.
- Treasury activities and monthly cashflow reporting
- IFRS knowledge and implementation of standards is useful for IFRS16 and IFRS15 but not a deal breaker.
- Assist the project teams to gather and populate the monthly project budgets.
Your background
- You have accounting experience according to IFRS and German GAAP
- You understand all reporting requirements in Germany.
- You have experience in a similar role or looking to step up.
- You will have experience working at a renewable company or similar (i.e. construction, real estate etc.) with an understanding of the technical accounting that comes with this
