Lead Data Engineer - Java, SQL, AWS - Frankfurt - 120.000 EUR


We are seeking a Lead Data Engineer to join our team based in Frankfurt.

As a leader within one of our data platform teams, you will be responsible for processing, storing, and serving data for our core systems.

  • Oversee high-level projects with company-wide impact.
  • Manage the team roadmap, development, and execution of software projects.
  • Collaborate with developers, product managers, business operations, and customers.
  • Handle end-to-end feature development and ownership, from design to production.
  • Contribute to the design and development of next-generation big data solutions.
  • Research core technologies and integrate with external APIs and services.


What You Offer:

  • 2+ years of experience leading an engineering team.
  • 6+ years of data engineering experience as a developer, tech lead, or architect.
  • Strong knowledge of system architecture.
  • Experience building high-volume, scalable applications.
  • Familiarity with clusters, distributed systems, or streaming applications.
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Proficiency with technologies like Java, Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, MySQL and AWS.
  • Proven ability to plan and manage projects from start to finish.
  • Experience with Scrum and Kanban methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and rollout plans.
  • Experience with application monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Mimir, DataDog, and Kibana.
  • Proficiency with Git version control.
  • BSc in Computer Science or a related degree.
