About Us: Our Data Engineering team transforms a wide range of technical expertise into long-lasting solutions that deliver real value to our clients. You'll gain hands-on experience working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and see the direct impact of your work in real-world scenarios.


Your Role:

  • Develop and Maintain Data Pipelines: You'll play a key role in setting up, implementing, and maintaining data pipelines. While much of our work revolves around data pipelines, you'll also engage in various stages of the data lifecycle, from building data platforms from scratch to transitioning to new data architectures and ensuring the security of existing systems.
  • Diverse Experience in Data Engineering: You’ll work on 1-3 projects per year, exposing you to various industries, use cases, and technologies. Your daily tasks will vary even within a single project, giving you a broad spectrum of experiences.
  • Real-World Impact: Unlike companies focused on vaporware, Artefact builds solutions that are used for years and create genuine value for our clients. You’ll gain experience in client-facing roles and work closely with non-technical teams.
  • Modern Tools and Technologies: Our tech stack is modern and varies by client. Currently, we use GCP with Terraform, DBT, and Vertex AI, with Python as our primary programming language.


What You Bring:

  • Proficiency in a Programming Language: Ideally Python, but we are open to others like C++ or Java, as long as you can quickly learn Python if needed.
  • Strong Data Culture: You’re familiar with ETL workflows and database concepts.
  • Advanced SQL Skills: You can write efficient and powerful queries.
  • Problem-Solving and Quick Learning Abilities: You excel at tackling complex issues and picking up new skills.
  • Team Collaboration: You know how to use Git, write unit and integration tests, clearly explain your work to colleagues, and seek help when needed.


Nice-to-Haves:

While not mandatory, the following skills and experiences are highly valued:

  • Hybrid Profile: Experience in both data engineering and data science.
  • Experience with Production Systems and Client Data: Familiarity with real-world, production-level systems.
  • Agile/Scrum Knowledge: Hands-on experience with tools like Jira.
  • ML/AI Data Pipeline Experience: Familiarity with technologies like Airflow, Spark, LangChain, etc.
  • Database Expertise: Ability to optimize databases for specific use cases.
  • MLOps Enthusiast: Knowledge of managing and monitoring machine learning models in production.
  • Cloud Experience: Proficiency with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP), especially with data engineering components (Dataflow, Vertex AI, Dataproc, Sagemaker, HDInsight, Databricks, etc.).
  • Networking and Security Knowledge.
