Head of Sales with a Pathway to CCO

Feeling like you are not getting the career progression you want or deserve right now? Perhaps feeling a bit stuck in a big hierarchy without much internal movement?
We are working with a smaller foot care company that has both the funding and sales results to really take the next step in expanding their organization. The first step is to hire a Head of Sales which will we responsible for the German and Benelux markets primarily. Within 2-3 years we are looking at a good chance to progress into a Chief Commercial Officer role as they grow.
They have developed a first of its kind product that uses CAD/CAM technology. This essentially means that clinicians can 3d print foot accessories based on hyper accurate data from the patient, with all this being done in 20 minutes.
Not to mention that this is in a market where there are millions of patients annually in each of the major European markets. Yet, often there are only a handful of professionals educated each year meaning the case loads are extremely high. Being able to help those patients faster and more cost-effectively is therefore key and our client is in the forefront of this. Feedback from the actual users have already been superb.
It goes without saying that this would be quite a strategic position. You will lead and executive the commercial strategy in your regions, as well as overseeing marketing, after-sales and service. You will be dealing a lot with account management (and there are already several key accounts) but you will also be involved in new business development.
Requirements
- the scope of the positions, we ideally see at least 5+ years of sales/commercial experience within the Orthopedics and/or Foot Care sector. We could also be open to consider other backgrounds from the medical device sector.
- importantly you need to be willing and able to chase new business development on top of the regular account management. This is still a smaller business overall meaning you are very-hands, even with the strategic scope it involves.
- in English is necessary.
- in Germany would be a big advantage although not necessarily required. Having experience from the German and/or Benelux markets would be helpful.
Location:
This position can be based either in Germany or from the Valencia region in Spain. We could also consider other locations within Europe depending on your flexibility of travelling. Regardless, you need to be able travel for work given the nature of the position. Exact amount can be discussed based on your situation.
Salary Package:
Exact amount will depend on your location and experience. But they are targeting a very favorable commission/bonus scheme and this is likely where you could find the big upside apart from internal progression paths down the line.
