My client is a leading player in the automotive industry, renowned for its innovation, quality, and commitment to excellence. With a global presence and a dedication to staying at the forefront of automotive technology, we are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Buyer to join our dynamic team.


Position Overview: As a Strategic Buyer - Indirects, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing our procurement processes and driving efficiency across various indirect categories critical to our operations. With a primary focus on construction services, machinery, equipment, MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations), and engineering services, you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating contracts, and managing supplier relationships. Proficiency in German (B2 level minimum) is required due to the nature of the role and our global operations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategic sourcing strategies for indirect categories such as construction services, machinery, equipment, MRO, and engineering services.
  • Conduct market research and supplier evaluations to identify cost-saving opportunities and mitigate risks.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to ensure favorable terms and conditions.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and align procurement strategies accordingly.
  • Manage supplier relationships to drive performance improvements, cost reductions, and innovation.
  • Monitor and track supplier performance against KPIs, implementing corrective actions when necessary.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes affecting procurement activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement processes and optimize cost efficiency.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Strategic Buyer or Procurement Specialist, preferably within the automotive industry.
  • Strong understanding of indirect procurement categories, particularly in construction services, machinery, equipment, MRO, and engineering services.
  • Proficiency in German (B2 level minimum) is essential.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Demonstrated track record of achieving cost savings and process improvements.
  • Familiarity with procurement tools and systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is advantageous.
