Weare looking for an experienced Engineering Manager with stronghands-on knowledge of software Engineering using Node Js andTypeScript to help drive the modernization of a market-leadinggovernance/risk/compliance solution.

This will bea role that leads the cross-functional development team of 9software developers and quality engineers to work on cutting-edgetechnologies as the application is transitioned to a newarchitecture.

KeyResponsibilities

  • Mentorand coach the cross-functional team and individuals. Support directreports in their personal development. Drive goal settings andprovide constructive feedback that helps themgrow.
  • Build an engineering culture wherecollaboration (within the team and with other development teams aswell), continuous improvement and continuous learning is part ofeveryone’s DNA.
  • Design, code, review and testassigned features and user stories, in accordance with the agilemethodology employed by Diligent.
  • Contribute tothe quality assurance/testing strategy for assigned features,performing technical tasks as required to support that strategy,including but not limited to development of unit and otherautomated tests, and assisting with acceptance and regressiontesting.
  • Influence the design of the futurestate of the product, including separating out major components andsub-systems, designing and delivering prototypes, especially forback-end components.
  • Involved in continuousimprovement of processes by regularly making improvementrecommendations at teamretrospectives.

RequiredExperience/Skills

  • 7years+ of software engineering experience.
  • 3years+ people management experience in agileenvironment.
  • Keen to improve processes andshare knowledge across the team.
  • Strongexperience in a hands-on development role at a commercial softwarecompany.
  • Familiarity with Source Code ControlSystems (esp Git, GitHub) and common branching models such asGitFlow.

PreferredExperience/Skills

  • Experiencewith Node Js, TypeScript, React, AWS (or any opencloud).
  • Experience working withSoAs/ESBs/Message Queues (such asRabbitMQ).
  • Keen to learn more about newlanguages andframeworks.
