About the Role:

As a Data Engineering Specialist, you'll design and deploy scalable Azure-based data solutions, craft sophisticated data models, and develop robust data pipelines. Your expertise in managing data storage solutions, including Azure Data Lake and SQL Database, will ensure top-notch data warehousing with Azure Synapse Analytics. You'll ensure seamless data integration, implement stringent data security measures, and optimise system performance. Additionally, you'll mentor a team of data engineers, collaborate with stakeholders, document best practices, and conduct training sessions to promote continuous learning.

Requirements

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure SQL Database, and Azure Data Lake Storage.
• Strong programming skills in SQL, Python, and/or Scala.
• Expertise in data modelling, ETL processes, and data warehousing.
• Knowledge of big data technologies and frameworks like Apache Spark.
• Experience with data security, governance, and compliance practices.

Soft Skills:

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years in data engineering, with at least 3 years focusing on Azure data services.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing large-scale data solutions.

Preferred certifications: Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or equivalent.

Desired skills: Experience with DevOps practices, version control systems, and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub).
