Position Overview: As a Global Commodity Manager - Metals, you will be at the forefront of our procurement strategy, responsible for overseeing and optimizing the sourcing of metals across our global supply chain. A strong focus on castings and forgings is highly appreciated. You will play a key role in securing the highest quality materials at competitive prices while ensuring continuity of supply and fostering strong supplier relationships. This position offers the opportunity to work on exciting future-proof projects and contribute to the advancement of the automotive industry.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute global commodity strategies for metals, including aluminum, steel, and other relevant materials, to meet the needs of our automotive manufacturing operations.
  • Identify and assess potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage supplier relationships to ensure cost-effectiveness, quality, and reliability of supply.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to drive continuous improvement and innovation in materials sourcing and utilization.
  • Monitor market trends, industry developments, and geopolitical factors affecting metal prices and availability, and proactively adjust sourcing strategies accordingly.
  • Drive initiatives to optimize inventory levels, reduce lead times, and mitigate supply chain risks through effective demand forecasting and inventory management practices.
  • Champion sustainability and ethical sourcing practices within the supply chain, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in global commodity management, specifically in the sourcing of metals for automotive or manufacturing industries.
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to drive favorable contract terms and pricing agreements with suppliers.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Fluency in English and German.
