If you are passionate about building scalable, reliable, and cloud-native solutions, this is your opportunity to make an impactPosition: Senior Software Engineer– Backup & Restore SystemsKey Responsibilities:Drive end-to-end software development with a strong focus on quality, scalability, and performanceLead low- and high-level design proposals, conduct code reviews, and ensure technical excellenceCollaborate with stakeholders to align on design and approach, influencing decisions with clear technical reasoningBring innovative ideas to enhance product capabilities and user experienceLead technical Proof of Concepts (PoCs) and transform ideas into production-ready features across major public cloudsMentor engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learningEnsure features meet operational excellence standards, emphasizing observability, reliability, and scalabilityThe Role:Spearhead the design and implementation of hyperscale-native backup and restore featuresDrive development with a DevOps mindset, covering planning, implementation, testing, deployment, and monitoringTackle complex engineering challenges with a hands-on approachWork effectively with multiple stakeholders to ensure alignment on technical solutions and project goalsContribute to the evolution of backup and restore services, positioning HCLTech as a technological leader in the industryWhat You Bring:12–18 years of experience in software development with strong proficiency in object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms, and Python (or willingness to adopt Python)Expertise in identifying code smells, applying design patterns, and writing maintainable codeExperience in unit testing and automated testing for high-quality deliverablesProven ability to design reliable, scalable products with robust observability practicesSkilled in API-first design with a focus on reliability and scalabilityBasic understanding of TCP/IP, HTTP protocols, authentication, and authorizationHands-on experience building cloud-native solutions through GA release cyclesTrack record of ownership, leading PoCs, and mentoring teamsFamiliarity with Linux systems and public cloudsNice to have: Knowledge of storage systems, filesystems, and databases like HANA, Sybase ASE, MSSQLWhy Join Us?At HCLTech, we believe in equal opportunity for all.
