The Institute of Pharmacology and Toxicology aims to decipher disease mechanisms to restore the function of diseased organs, particularly the heart. Utilizing various in vitro and in vivo models, we investigate pathophysiological molecular mechanisms and signaling pathways underlying cardiovascular diseases, thereby developing new targets for clinical translation. The primary focus of the "Immunopharmacology of the Heart" research group (headed by Dr. rer. medic. Erik Klapproth) at the Institute of Pharmacology and Toxicology, TU Dresden, lies in examining the role and interaction of different immune cell subpopulations following an acute myocardial infarction. Specifically, the Klapproth group focusses on the significance of neutrophils for post-infarction pathogenesis and remodeling, as well as the chemokines and proteases crucial for immune cell recruitment.

Starting at the next possible time, we are looking for a

Predoctoral Fellow / PhD Student (f/m/x)

in a part time position. This position is initially limited to 36 months, with remuneration according to the Collective Agreement for the Public Service of the States (TV-L), entailing possible placement in pay group E13 TV-L contingent upon personal qualifications.
