Responsibilities:
Responsibilities 1. Follow up the progress of projects in a timely manner to ensure the project cycle and proper delivery of projects.
- Reasonably allocate projects according to team members skills and project types, and continuously improve human efficiency output.
- Follow-up on project progress timely, communication and feedback on project issues, and propose solutions.
- Regularly report production data and production problems, and provide timely feedback on problems and impacts in project execution.
- Ensure the project cycle, quality and proper delivery of the project.
Responsibilities 2. Real-time sorting and optimisation of the build process.
- Sort out SOPs: update SOPs in a timely manner according to the problems that arise in project to standardize and standardize the process.
- Optimisation of the library building process: identify and solve problems in the existing process and propose solutions to improve human efficiency and quality.
- LIMS system requirement submission: according to the problems encountered in the operation of LIMS system, write LIMS function requirements and submit them to the system.
Responsibilities 3. Optimise techniques according to different stages of development and different needs.
- Introduction of high throughput instruments, automated workstations, etc. to improve work efficiency and reduce labour costs.
- Introduction of new reagent kits to reduce production costs or to solve the problem of non-compliance of data with the index.
- Optimisation of SOPs to shorten the cycle or improve the library quality.
- To propose requirements and suggestions for testing related instruments, kits and methods.
Responsibilities 4. Carry out staff training and related assessment work.
- Hold regular group meetings to communicate and solve current problems in extraction and exchange work experience.
- Arrange professional staff to carry out relevant technical training for new and existing staff (within the group, outside the group and between departments).
- Organise regular group activities for the group to enhance understanding and team awareness.
- Provide a learning platform (rotations, outbound training, lectures, exchanges).
- Arranging written examinations, induction certificates, transfer assessments and later title assessments within the group.
- Develop a training and assessment mechanism for the group's personnel, comprehensively train and assess group members, and constantly update the training programme.
- Reasonable arrangement of staff shifts, secondments, transfers, etc. in accordance with the project situation.
Responsibilities 5. Reasonably control the production cost of the group, increase revenue and reduce expenditure, and continuously improve efficiency.
- Cultivate the cost awareness of the group members to achieve the reasonable use of reagents and consumables.
- Introduce high throughput instruments: e.g. automated workstations, electric discharge guns, etc. to improve throughput and reduce labour costs.
Responsibilities 6. Performance assessment work.
- To account for the workload of the team members at the end of the quarter and to split the workload according to the actual situation.
- Ranking and identifying outstanding team members according to their usual performance, as well as rewarding and carrying out disciplinary actions accordingly.
Responsibilities 7. Communication and feedback.
- Provide real-time feedback to team members, scheduling, operations and senior management on production issues to ensure the project cycle and normal operation.
- Solve other project related problems raised by the business unit.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s or advanced degree in molecular biology, molecular science, genetics, biotechnology, or similar subject is required, with three-years and above NGS lab related experience
- Strong teamwork ethic and the commitment to successfully deliver to tight deadlines are essential
- Willing to oversee shift work
- High accuracy and attention to detail are a must for both laboratory and office-based work
- Fluent operating Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel and PowerPoints is essential
- Good communication skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Excellent in understanding graphs
- High sense of responsibility for maintaining accurate records and preparing reports
- Thorough knowledge of all the equipment and processes used in the laboratory
- Experience of using Laboratory information management systems (LIMS) is advantageous
- Experience within a hospital or clinical laboratory is advantageous
- Fluent in English and German, conversational in Chinese is advantageous
