Summary:


The Global Labor Relations Leader drives Mitel Labor Relations strategy in Europe in partnership with Business HR leaders who own labor relation for their respective businesses. Lead deployment of companywide initiatives in the region and advises management on labor issues in the region and risk management.


Responsibilities:

Provides thought leadership and overall direction for a Global labor relation strategy at Mitel.

Develop strong partnership with Mitel HR leaders and operations management leaders to support management of employees’ representatives in an effective manner avoiding disruptions to the business and minimizing any limits to management flexibility.

Manage the relationship with Mitel’s Works Councils across all countries where WC/Union requirements exist.

Facilitate alignment across key stakeholder groups (business, functional) to enable a shared approach of priorities and objectives.

Accountable for the setting of direction and narrative of all communications/interface with internal/external labor representatives.

Propose strategies for a labor relation agenda and measure effectiveness in terms of impact to goals and recommend adjustments as appropriate.

Liaise and/or develop effective and efficient communication in partnership with stakeholders to drive awareness and/or activation to meet labor relation objectives.

Act as focal point for all aspects related to labor and/or local labor representatives advising management on labor issues in the region and risk management as well as providing labor expertise in potential acquisition/divestiture projects.

Build organizational capability in labor relation at Mitel, including training/education as well as tool and processes to share best practices.

Support key negotiation preparation and act as a non-participant advisor to local collective negotiations and bargain directly as required.


Qualifications:

Masters’ degree or similar equivalent knowledge/experience in labor law, industrial relations, or Human Resources.

Minimum of 10 years’ direct experience in field of expertise, with demonstrated performance and success in labor relations leadership roles.

Experience in working with and understanding of laws, rules, regulations and practices related to negotiating and administering labor agreements.

Transformation/M&A experience preferred.

Must be able to travel ~10-20%+/- of the time.

German language fluency required with preference to be based in a German speaking country

Proven global leadership skills – demonstrated ability to establish a clear vision and break down boundaries and empower teams.
