Role: Senior Construction Manager

Location: Germany, Hybrid working


My client is a major international solar & wind developer operating in more than fifteen countries. With over decades worth of experience within the energy industry & a total pipeline of 7.7GW you will be working alongside experts within the renewable energy industry. Due to this exciting period of growth, they're focusing on developing their team in Germany further and are searching for a Senior Construction Manager to join their dynamic team.


The Construction Manager plays a pivotal role in expanding their presence in Germany, contributing directly to the company's footprint growth. Their involvement entails active participation in overseeing construction and project management activities for large-scale renewable energy projects, primarily focused on solar PV and onshore wind.


Responsibilities

  • Collaborates in the tendering processes (RFQ/RFP) in technical requirements, contract discussions.
  • Demonstrates a good understanding of project design drawings and actively participates in discussions with designers (Pre-Executive design) and BOP Contractors.
  • Supervises the quality of services and products provided by external suppliers.
  • Defines, prepares, and controls documentation to facilitate the timely start of construction for the renewable energy project.
  • Works under coordination with the procurement department to prepare technical documentation and scope for bidding procedures for external suppliers.
  • Develops and schedules project steps to achieve the most efficient, timely, and cost-effective construction of photovoltaic or wind farms.
  • Supervises and controls the design and construction requirements outlined in the applicable Building Permit.
  • Reports project status, recommends solutions, and provides information about potential risks to the Board.
  • Manages and supervises payment approval and document preparation processes in accordance with the project plan's requirements.
  • Serves as the main point of contact for local public entities (e.g., government departments) and private institutions (e.g., DSO) on behalf of the company.
  • Coordinates information flow between the company and public institutions, such as the Municipality, Commune, and other Public Institutions, within the project scope and on behalf of SPV.
  • Facilitates internal information flow within the Development Team, Accounting, Legal, Procurement, Tax, HSE & Quality departments.
  • Manages and controls technical, Time Schedule, Health & Safety, and Quality issues during the construction process.


Qualifications/Experience

  • Based in Germany or Denmark.
  • Strong electrical background.
  • Strong civils background.
  • Good understanding of project design software – AUTOCAD etc.
  • Wind experience.
  • Solar experience.
  • Ability to travel when required.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Good management experience.
  • Fluent in English
  • Fluent in German/or Danish.
  • Strong understanding of health & safety.
  • Strong construction background.
