Brief:

The Control Room Technician, who reports directly to the Electrical Operations Manager, holds the responsibility for the remote monitoring and oversight of wind turbines located within offshore wind farms, ensuring optimal performance and swift identification of any operational issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor, control, and operate offshore wind farms remotely, working within a 24/7 shift system.
  • Detect faults and conduct in-depth fault analysis, including remote troubleshooting, with a focus on wind turbines.
  • Provide technical support to offshore site personnel, particularly in troubleshooting issues.
  • Assist in managing the maintenance of wind farms to ensure efficient operations.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement and development of processes aimed at optimising safety and increasing the availability of wind turbines.
  • Execute shutdowns within wind farm grids, with particular attention to wind turbines.
  • Engage in technical discussions and communication with remote third-party vendors and OEMs for operational support.

Profile & Experience

  • Completed vocational training in electrical engineering or a comparable qualification.
  • Extensive experience in operating and maintaining electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems, including HV/LV systems, converters, generators, and programmable logic controllers, as well as a strong understanding of ancillary systems in wind turbines.
  • Proven experience in the service and troubleshooting of wind turbines, preferably in the offshore wind energy sector.
  • Familiarity with Senvion 5/6XM wind turbines or similar models from other manufacturers is a plus.
  • Strong security awareness and a commitment to safety.
  • Excellent proficiency in MS Office and hands-on experience with ERP systems.
  • Fluent in English, with the ability to work effectively both in teams and under pressure when solving technical issues.
  • Demonstrates responsible decision-making, structured thinking, flexibility, and reliability.
  • Possession of a valid driving license.
