Power Supply Design - Technical Project Lead


Looking to take the lead on a diverse range of power supply development projects?


This position is working for a long-established power electronics business in Nuremberg, pushing the technical boundaries in fully customised power supplies utilising cutting-edge technology such as silicon carbide and wide bandgap semiconductors.


They are designed for high reliability, and high-performance applications like high-intensity lighting in stadiums and theatres, life-saving medical devices, and cutting-edge industrial equipment like laser systems.


This Project lead position involves the creation of power supply devices from concept to production, partnering with customers, and steering the internal teams to create innovative solutions.


Key activities include:


  • Assisting during the offer phase in conducting feasibility studies, and discussing technical specifications with customers.
  • Designing, planning, and developing products while closely collaborating with customers and taking technical responsibility within the development team.
  • Development tasks such as circuit design, layout support, firmware development, device commissioning, product optimisation and acceptance tests.
  • Overseeing project progress, including tracking milestones and deadlines


Some requirements to be considered a strong fit:


  • Completed studies in engineering with a focus on electrical engineering
  • At least 5 years of experience in the development of power supplies or similar devices
  • Very good knowledge in the field of power electronics
  • Deep knowledge in the field of microprocessor circuits with experience in at least one of the programming languages (e.g. C, C#, C++)
  • Experience in the field of EMC testing and interference suppression of assemblies
  • Experience in the application of standards
  • Language skills needed - German C1 level (CEFR) and minimum B1 English level (CEFR)
