I am currently working with a fast-growing FMCG company that is undergoing a major transformation and is looking for a talented Director of Logistics to join their team. This exciting opportunity is remote, with flexibility for candidates based in Germany, Switzerland, or the UK.

My client is a well-established company in the FMCG sector, known for delivering high-quality products and continuously innovating to meet evolving market demands. As they scale up and restructure their logistics operations, they are searching for a strategic leader to drive the future of their supply chain.


Role

As the Director of Logistics, you will take ownership of the company’s entire logistics operation, from warehousing to transportation and distribution across multiple regions. You will be responsible for optimizing processes, leading a high-performing team, and implementing cutting-edge technologies to support the company’s ambitious growth.

Key to this role will be your ability to lead the logistics transformation and ensure the business is fully equipped to manage increasing complexity as it scales.


Responsibilities

  • Lead and Manage: Oversee the end-to-end logistics operations, leading a dynamic team across Europe.
  • Strategy Execution: Design and implement logistics strategies that drive operational efficiency and support the company’s long-term growth.
  • Operational Optimization: Identify and address bottlenecks in the supply chain, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
  • Transformation Leadership: Be the driving force behind the logistics transformation, managing change and modernizing logistics functions.
  • Cost Management: Ensure the logistics operations remain within budget, finding areas for cost savings without sacrificing service quality.
  • Technology Implementation: Spearhead the integration of logistics technologies and automation to boost productivity.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to ensure alignment and effective communication throughout the supply chain.
  • Risk Management: Anticipate and mitigate any potential risks or disruptions in the logistics process.

Ideal Candidate

To succeed in this role, you’ll need to have significant experience in senior logistics roles within the FMCG sector, preferably with exposure to multi-regional logistics across Europe. You should be comfortable working in a high-growth environment where transformation and continuous improvement are at the forefront.


Key qualifications include:

  • Extensive experience as a Director of Logistics or senior-level logistics leader within the FMCG sector.
  • Strong knowledge of European logistics landscapes, particularly in Germany, Switzerland, and the UK.
  • A track record of managing logistics transformations, driving operational excellence and managing large teams.
  • Expertise with logistics technology solutions, including ERP, WMS, and TMS systems.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire teams and manage change.
  • Fluency in English is essential; additional languages (German, etc.) are a plus.
