Job Title: Optical Engineer - Senior level


Summary:

We are actively looking for a skilled Optical Engineer - Senior level role at one of our international key high-tech clients. The ideal candidate will have a well-rounded background that encompasses hands-on experience in optical/optoelectronics development within an international R&D team.


You will play a pivotal role in guiding the progression of product development in accordance with the established roadmap, demonstrating adept proficiency in resource and technical engineering. Whilst contributing to the assembly and testing of optical systems and prototypes, ideally you'll posses a wealth of experience in experimental optical configurations exceling in hands-on tasks. Working within a tight-knit team environment, they also demonstrate a capacity for independent work.

Our client is a successful global high-technology mid-size truly global organization a leader in R&D selling and distributing novel optical measurement complex devices expanding their products, solutions range and teams worldwide. This position will be based with the German R&D clean room lab but collaborating with BU's in USA, Europe/UK and Asia.


Responsibilities:

  • Creating, engineering, developing, and realizing optical systems considering the physical influences: thermal, vibrational/mechanical stress.
  • Generating presentations to document project progress, achievements, and methodologies
  • Conducting modeling and simulation activities for the newly created as well as improved optical systems
  • Designing, programming, testing, and refining algorithms using Matlab
  • Analysing and processing complex data
  • Fabricating, testing, and optimizing laboratory samples and prototypes
  • Contributing to publications, and patent applications for projects in academia and industry.
  • Participating in the coordination of specifications, timelines, and budgetary plans.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or higher degree in Engineering, Science, Physics, or Electronics
  • Substantial professional experience in Optics development and engineering, modelling, and simulation within high-tech- Raman or Brillouin backscattering
  • Proficiency in utilizing Matlab and expertise ideally in signal processing
  • Fluency in English languages, preferably also in German
  • Demonstrated strong influencing and communication skills
  • Exceptional documentation and presentation abilities
  • Demonstrating strong analytical skills that enable thorough examination and innovative solutions
