About the Role


We are looking for a Project Controller to work at our office in Darmstadt.


About the client and location


The key individual will support the VP in Germany with the reporting and project control for all the contracts within the German region. You will work closely with the Service Managers, Operations Officer, Corporate Contracts and Finance, as well as the technical teams on customer sites.


Tasks and activities


The scope of work will include:


  • Support for assuring the monthly, milestone and ad hoc reporting for the specific contracts in Germany:
  • Liaising with the technical staff for their timely inputs.
  • Completing all required financial reporting and collecting required supporting documents.
  • Ensuring reports are accurate, detailed, on time and meet the contract requirements.
  • Completing internal Budget Documents and following up on set-up within the Company’s ERP system.
  • Supervising the Mission Management Process, ensuring timely and accurate submission of expenses, and reporting.
  • Supervising the Time Management Process for the contracts, monitoring on-time submission of timesheets, tracking of working days, approved exceptions from the client and Absence monitoring (administering the timesheet system including Holiday and leave authorization, ensuring timely submission and approval of timesheets).
  • Working closely with Finance, completing the financial monitoring of the contracts, highlighting possible risks and areas for improvement.
  • Monitoring the internal and client KPIs.
  • Assisting in the kick-off of new contracts, integrating the delivery and reporting requirements into the monthly planning and ensuring the on-site teams are aware of the contractual requirements.
  • Participating and supporting in Contract review meetings internally and with the clients.
  • Tracking contract paperwork with Corporate Services’ contracts and the finance team.


Skills and experience


The following skills and experience are mandatory:


  • A degree (or equivalent) in an Engineering, Finance, Economics or Scientific discipline (with a numerical focus).
  • More than four years’ experience in a finance, admin or project control environment.
  • Previous experience in a technical services provider.
  • The ability to build networks and relationships (both social and professional) easily.
  • Good organizational and planning skills.
  • Able to take a diplomatic approach to problem solving.
  • The ability to make good judgements and quick decisions regarding the business.
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Excel and numerical reasoning.
  • An analytical mindset with a good eye for detail.
  • Confident working within a multi-cultural environment as a team player, additionally working well with remote teams.
  • The ability to influence people, without direct authority.
  • Comfortable working towards strict deadlines.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
