The Computational Biologist's role is pivotal in crafting advanced models for biological cells, metabolic networks, and signaling pathways. Additionally, you'll spearhead the development of bioinformatic workflows and foster strong ties with academic partners to propel technological prowess forward. Your adeptness in metabolic and signalling networks, gene network reconstruction, ontology, and sequence analysis, coupled with proficiency in Python, will be instrumental in furthering our mission.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Forge sophisticated computational models for mammalian cells to enrich comprehension and predictive abilities regarding cell behaviour in bioprocesses.
  • Innovate and refine metabolic network models, augmenting the optimisation of bio-production processes.
  • Develop models for signalling pathways to unravel and influence cell responses, thereby enhancing bioprocess outcomes.
  • Architect and execute bioinformatic workflows to bolster data analysis and model development processes.
  • Cultivate and sustain robust relationships with academic partners, harnessing these collaborations to propel predictive digital twins technology.
  • Collaborate across various functions within the company to seamlessly integrate computational models into the overarching platform, ensuring practical functionality and real-world application.


Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Hold an advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred) in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Systems Biology, or a related field.
  • Demonstrate prowess in metabolic networks, signalling networks, gene network reconstruction, ontology, and sequence analysis.
  • Possess excellent statistical knowledge and adeptness in applying machine learning algorithms.
  • Exhibit proficiency in Python and R programming for computational biology applications.
  • Showcase substantial project management experience, capable of leading projects and fostering effective collaboration with internal teams and external academic partners.
  • Communicate scientific concepts with clarity and persuasiveness, leveraging excellent communication skills.
  • Display proactive and innovative thinking, coupled with a steadfast dedication to advancing biotechnological research and development.
